April 26, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 5:50 pm
From the Climate Change Initiative’s Facebook Event Page:
The 2021 Spring Seminar Series co-sponsored by the EEAS Department and Climate Change Initiative of UMass Lowell ends with a lecture from CCI Member and Associate Professor of Political Science, Jarrod Hayes.
Climate change is increasingly recognized as one of, if not the, paramount challenging confronting humanity. Despite this reality, policy action in the United States and globally has been inadequate. This lecture explores the problem from the standpoint of political logics. Using a sense making approach, the lecture addresses two alternative logics of action–security and sustainable development.
Jarrod Hayes is an associate professor of international relations in the Department of Political Science. Before coming to UML he was a tenured associate professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His primary fields of study are international security, global environmental politics, and foreign policy.
